One of the quirkiest and most interesting ways of seeing the sights in London, we’ve been their preferred wheel manufacturer/supplier for some years. After many telephone calls, emails, meetings, discussions, drawings and designs, the new braking system was finally perfected and installed on both rear axles of one of the vehicles which passed all tests with flying colours, along with the newly designed and built wheels to suit the modern system. Installation on the rest of the fleet soon followed With that success under our belts we moved forward to the front axles and from there developed together a bespoke system, again with a new wheel to suit both the application and the existing cosmetics of the vehicle in line with our clients exacting requirements So now you can go sightseeing, safe in the knowledge that unaffected by its dip into the murky waters of the Thames, the bus/boat will stop efficiently when required……………well, at least on the road! |

Concorde Motorhome built on an Iveco Daily chassis As with many motorhome and horse box conversions built on standard truck and van chassis, the custom bodywork often appears very wide compared to the track width of the original tyre and wheel set-up In this case we built and supplied six new custom offset wheels with somewhat wider tyres than the originals, effectively widening the front and rear track widths, giving a more pleasing overall balanced appearance and according to our customer significantly improving the ride and handling by reducing the roll caused by the overhang of the body. This is what the customer had to say: "I purchased my Concorde Carver a little over a year ago. Concorde used an Iveco 5.5 ton chassis for the unit and although it had double wheels at the back, they were set about 200mm in from the wheel arches and the tyres were only 195’s. To my mind this was the reason for the excessive roll and overall mediocre road handling I was experiencing with the vehicle. I tried to find suitable larger wheels on the internet without any success and Iveco did not produce any wider wheels that would fit the wheel hubs. I eventually came across a specialist wheel manufacturer for vans and lorries by the name of Aspect Wheels and approached them to produce some purpose made wheels. All I needed to do was give their helpful advisor all the information from the stampings on the wheel hubs, together with the overall clearances within the wheel arches and axles. From this information they developed a complete set of bespoke wheels for my vehicle. They came with two separate off-sets for front and rear and the width increased from 195 to 235. I have now fitted them and the results are astounding. No roll when taking bends or roundabouts and a general increase in overall handling. I would fully recommend Aspect wheels to anyone with similar problems with their motorhome." |
